Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is true worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
When Jesus was preparing for the call of ministry, He went out into the wilderness; prayed and fasted for forty days. Jesus also retreated to the garden of Gethsemane when faced with challenges and adversities to discern the Will of God for His life and ministry. In doing so, Jesus has modeled for us the way and purposes for retreating.
In today’s world of distractions and frivolous entertainment, a retreat center provides a sacred space and time for centering ourselves in the presence of the Lord. Many have encountered God during retreats and we pray that thousands will come to know Christ here at The Shekinah Chapel Retreat Center. The purpose of The Shekinah Chapel Retreat Center is to experience a spiritual excavation that enables one and others to DIGG deep and uncover the spiritual self.
